Living in the middle of the park of an old manor house with a sauna and a view of the countryside. The name "Friedenfelde" couldn't describe the area better - the peace and beauty of the hilly landscape and nature ensures immediate relaxation.
The Friedensfelde manor house is an ensemble of three holiday homes; Next to the main house there is the cavalier house and the converted old barn. The hosts Annedore Streyl and Thomas Rieger bought the manor house in 2019 and renovated it as sustainably as possible for almost four years. The manor house itself dates back to 1742 and the famous romantic poet Achim von Arnim grew up here back then.
The “Kavaliershaus” was added during the renovation and was designed as a modern “barn house”. Made entirely of wood and glass on the outside, the house is incredibly bright and spacious. All doors and windows can be opened and closed using sliding elements designed like barn doors. The interior design primarily used vintage and second-hand elements in order to make the new building as sustainable as possible. The colors were chosen to match the furniture and modern art enlivens the walls.
The park with fruit trees that belongs to the manor house merges into a forest and has been kept as natural as possible in order to provide sufficient living space for animals, birds and various tree and plant species. Here you can relax and read in a deckchair, watch animals, listen to birds or simply enjoy the lush greenery. There is even a music festival here in the summer.

ArchitectureWhat makes the architecture special is that the exterior design is based heavily on the barns in the area. Local craftsmen and building materials were used. Old materials from the manor house are also reused.
The employees, all of whom come from the region, can of course take part in all cultural events on site and receive further training, particularly in the area of landscape conservation using historical means.
EnvironmentHot water is supplied via a heat pump and electricity is produced using solar cells. The wastewater treatment plant is organic and feeds the pond in the grove to provide water for animals and plants. In the future there will also be an electric charging station. All cleaning materials such as dishwashing liquid, detergent, dishcloths, etc. are - as far as possible - biodegradable.
Well-BeingThere is a communal sauna and a large park with an adjacent forest.
