Gut Wittmoldt

Wittmoldt, Northern Germany, Germany

Those who jump from the bathing jetty into the Small Plöner See and swim a bit out can admire the Wittmoldt manor in all its glory. The red brick building stretches its face high, embedded in a sea of green treetops.

The estate has been owned by the von Bülow family for over 120 years. The family has been offering guests overnight accommodation in the manor house since 2014. There are a total of five stylish double rooms and two modern bathrooms on the Bel floor. From each of the rooms, guests look out into the natural landscape. In addition, a beautiful apartment was accommodated in the bakery and the administrator's house. The surrounding area is characterized by a beautiful natural park with protected lakeside. The peninsula on which the estate is located can be explored along the shore via a signposted art and culture path. A lot of modern art can also be admired in the manor house, exhibitions are regularly curated.

Five Welsh Cobs horses gallop in the paddock all year round and enjoy life. They are used for therapeutic riding purposes. On the estate there are also almost 60 natural, old apple and pear trees, the fruits of which are processed into cakes, compotes and juice. Vegetables and herbs that grow on the estate are also processed into farm products. Much of it can be found in the morning on the lavish breakfast buffet in the old farmhouse kitchen.

The Wittmoldt manor is wonderfully quiet in the wonderful Plön lake landscape. Whether swimming, canoeing, walking or reading - everyone will find relaxation here. In the grounds of the manor house and around the lake there are lots of cozy places to refuel and enjoy the wonderful landscape.

ArchitectureThe manor house was built in the Tudor style by the von Bülow family in 1895 and has been family-owned ever since. The ensemble is a classic estate, everything is harmonious from the interior to the architecture. The furniture is original and has been gently restored. Today the building is a listed building.

FoodThe delicious breakfast buffet is served in the cozy breakfast room in the old farmhouse kitchen. Many of the dishes come from our own cultivation and are freshly prepared. When purchasing, seasonal and ecological products from the surrounding area are used. The buffet also includes vegan options.

The von Bülow family maintains good contact with regional businesses and local craftsmen. The housekeeper not only has your workplace, but also your family and place of residence directly with the von Bülow family on the estate. All employees benefit from flexible working hours. The estate supports ThRip eV (therapeutic riding in Plön), Greenpeace and Nabu. There is close cooperation with the Seeweg Gut Wittmoldt eV, which promotes art and culture in the region.

EnvironmentSustainability is part of Gut Wittmoldt's concept and is actively conveyed to guests. The building system has its own drinking and waste water supply. Electricity is generated by a solar system, which also supplies the e-filling station on the site. The residual electricity requirements of the house are covered by the green electricity provider Greenpeace energy. A wood pellet system supplies the company with environmentally friendly heat. The company is located in the middle of a nature reserve and is committed to preserving biodiversity. For example, the tradition of orchards is cultivated. The flagship of the estate are the almost 60 natural, old apple and pear trees, the fruits of which are processed into cakes, compotes and juice. Vegetables and herbs that grow on the estate are also processed into farm products. Whenever possible, guests and seminar participants are supplied with these regional products.
