Glamping

Glamping im Gutspark

Malchin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

When "glamping in the estate park", guests wake up to the play of light and shadow on the tent walls, accompanied by the chirping of birds and the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind. From the tent you can see the pond, groups of trees or a clearing - the perfect environment to really relax.

In this listed estate park, guests can experience the historical atmosphere in a whole new way. Four bell tents, decorated in the style of the 19th century, are located in beautiful spots in the park. These tents are fully equipped like hotel rooms, but offer a unique proximity to nature. The hosts Nina and Albrecht spoil their guests with a delicious breakfast that is brought directly to the tent. They also offer tarte flambée and run a shop with high-quality products and natural wines. The concept revolves around sensuality, enjoyment, relaxation and a little journey back in time to the 19th century.

The 3.5 hectare estate park is characterised by old trees, clearings, a pond, a garden pavilion and a variety of birds. The romantic cotton bell tents with high gables and high-quality furnishings invite you to reflect and relax. The tent suites have real beds and are fully equipped with bed linen, towels, bathrobes and toiletries.

Nina and Albrecht have been restoring the historic estate since 2019 and have been running glamping in the estate park since 2021. The estate was first mentioned in 1228 and the current buildings date from 1896. The park in the style of an English landscape park was laid out around 1850. The manor house and the estate park have a rich history in which personalities such as Fritz Reuter and Hoffmann von Fallersleben met.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe resource-saving construction without fixed structures underlines the environmentally conscious concept of glamping in the estate park. The tents are made of cotton, and inside there are antique furniture from estates, antique linen bed linen and high-quality cotton fabrics. The architecture of the tents sensitizes guests to nature through their immediate proximity to it. The wood for the platforms and terraces is sourced locally, and climate- and environmentally-friendly ecological linseed oil paint was used to paint the outdoor sauna and toilet block.

FoodGlamping in the estate park serves seasonal, local food from organic farming, with many herbs coming directly from the park and food waste being composted. For breakfast, an elegant tiered stand with fresh, seasonal ingredients such as cheese, hunter's game, vegan spreads, quail eggs, fruit, vegetables, berries and nuts is offered. In the evening, guests can enjoy classic as well as vegetarian or vegan tarte flambée, for example with pumpkin and goat's cheese.

EnvironmentEquipped with composting toilets, ecological cleaning products, tent stoves powered by local wood, solar lamps, waste separation systems and fully biodegradable care products, the tents offer an environmentally friendly glamping experience. The income from overnight stays goes towards the maintenance and care of the estate park, and the operators are actively involved in nature conservation, especially in the area of bird protection. There are notes in the park with information about waste water and the value and benefits of composting toilets used there. In addition, the lawn is only mown from June and only on the paths, which makes the park particularly bird and insect friendly.

Well-BeingA sauna with a view of the small pond in the estate park is available to guests, which invites them to relax and unwind. Sailing tours on the nearby Kummerower Lake are also offered, as are meditations and coaching sessions.
