Finca El Quinto is like a small tropical village on the Canary Island of Tenerife, which guests can explore during their stay. You live privately in your own apartment or house, but you can also seek direct contact with other guests.
The finca was bought by the Köllmann family in the 80s and expanded over the years. Finca El Quinto is a family business, which is currently run in the second generation by Anna and Timo Köllmann and his partner Caro. Even the father is still busy working. Before the finca was purchased, her parents were antique dealers, which can still be clearly seen today. All accommodations are individually designed and are characterized by the combination of Canarian carpentry and antiques from all over the world.
The goal of the finca was and still is to bring people of different origins together. The accommodation should be a meeting point where guests can exchange ideas and relax in nature. The finca is constantly being developed and new projects are being added - many ideas also come from inspiring travelers. On the first day, the guests receive a brief introduction and also get one or two insider tips for their stay in Tenerife.
It is an ecological finca, the hosts cultivate some fields with numerous different types of vegetables. Guests have the option of harvesting themselves and preparing the fresh products directly in their private kitchens, or they can purchase them in their own farm. Thanks to the independent harvest, you also have a nice experience and can enjoy the excellent quality even more when you eat it.

Sustainable
ArchitectureEach of the houses is designed differently: from large and flooded with light to small and cozy. All houses were built and renovated in the traditional Canarian style. They adapt perfectly to the surrounding nature, they are hidden and can be reached via small paths. Great care was taken to recycle old doors, wooden floors and windows. During the renovation, mainly old wood from the region was used. The special thing about the accommodation is that all houses have been designed individually - none of the houses are the same as the other and all are characterized by the fact that they have been furnished with many small details and antiques and are therefore very inviting and cozy.
FoodIn the holiday apartments, guests cater for themselves. There is a courtyard shop on the premises that sells ecological products from the finca as well as other local products. In addition, the guests can harvest their own vegetables and enjoy absolutely fresh products without any transport routes.
The employees come directly from the village and have been working at Finca El Quinto for many years. The employees who work in the countryside receive a special massage to relax once a month. In general, the relationship is very familiar and you help and support each other as and where you can. Surplus vegetables are donated to a local soup kitchen.
EnvironmentThe finca is fully ecologically managed: the accommodations are cleaned with natural and biodegradable products. By recycling antiques and upgrading old windows and doors, it was possible to deliberately avoid buying a new one. The wastewater is filtered in a sophisticated three-chamber system and reused to irrigate the land, so there is no waste of water. There is a drinking water filter system in the courtyard, and only glass bottles are given to guests. For this reason, guests do not have to buy plastic bottles in the supermarket, but can conveniently fill up drinking water in reusable glass bottles. The three Canarian pigs that live on the site are happy about the organic waste. The swimming pools are filled with natural spring water from the mountains, which is then used again to irrigate the land. Finca El Quinto is an active member of the CRAE (Consejo Regulador de la Agricultura Ecologica de Canarias) and tries to offer tourists a responsible vacation in natural surroundings. The aim is to preserve the natural beauty and diversity of Tenerife by promoting ecological agriculture.
Well-BeingYoga classes are offered from Monday to Friday. Sound meditation and other offers can also be booked. Thai massages or osteopathic treatments can also be organized directly in the holiday home.
