Solea Natural Relais

Trecastelli, Marche, Italy

Gently rolling hills and a garden with magnificent olive trees surround the Solea Natural Relais in the Italian Marche.

The white and winding roads meander through the hills, past small villages that spread out like idyllic spots in the green mist. Wheat fields, bright sunflowers and fragrant fields of medicinal herbs characterize the image of this enchanting region of Italy.

The house, an old Casale dating back to 1840, stood empty as a ruin in 2004 before the current hosts lovingly restored it in 2005 and officially opened it in 2006. As a couple from Milan, they were looking for a new life in harmony with nature and realized their dream in this country house, which has been their home ever since.

They wanted to create a nest that offers a perfect balance between naturalness and comfort. A place where you can feel at home and at the same time experience the region from different perspectives: through its cuisine, landscapes, crafts and art. The style of the accommodation is characterized by simplicity and clarity. Natural materials such as stone, wood and glass are used, and the color palette is based on nature and historical paintings from the 15th century. The standard rooms are located on the 1st floor of the main house, while the superior rooms and the suite are located in the annex in the garden.

Solea Natural Relais is an adults-only hotel where peace, serenity and quiet are the focus. All rooms are double rooms. Here, space is created for relaxation, reading, sleeping and harmonious togetherness.

Sustainable

ArchitectureDuring the renovation, most of the materials from the original house were reused, giving the building the charm of an old Casale from the outside. The bricks for the cladding and paving date back to the 19th century and preserve the authentic character of the historic house. Local architects, construction companies and craftsmen from the region were involved in the renovation.

FoodThe hosts work with organic farms and use their own vegetable garden, which means that around 60% of the food is organic. The cuisine combines traditional Italian recipes with North African and oriental influences.

EnvironmentThe property uses an advanced ozone purification system that treats both black and white water so it can be reused for irrigation purposes. Waste is carefully separated and kitchen scraps find their way into the compost to support the circular economy. The hosts also use photovoltaic and solar panels to optimise energy consumption and reduce plastic packaging. The pool is also filled with ozone-enriched water.

Well-BeingGuests can book various massages such as mindfulness, Ayurveda and deep tissue massages as well as holistic consultations. There is also a large outdoor pool in the garden where you can swim a few laps. In the area there are also great hiking routes, cycle paths and by the sea you can try out many water sports such as surfing, paddling or beach volleyball.
