INFOREST

Hjo, Västra Götaland, Sweden

If you are looking for total peace and quiet, the best place to stay is Jesper and Petra Uvesten in Sweden. Their accommodation INFOREST is located in the forest, far away from other houses and roads. Despite the isolation in the forest, there are still all the amenities you need for a relaxing holiday - hot water, a shower and a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator included.

Jesper and Petra had the idea of INFOREST in their heads for a few years. They wanted to build unique, off-grid cabins in the forest - and they seem to have succeeded. The two believe in sustainable tourism and nature tourism and that is exactly why they are so proud to be able to offer hand-crafted, eco-friendly and self-sufficient cabins in the beautiful forest outside the idyllic Hjo in Sweden.

In INFOREST, visitors will have the opportunity to live in the middle of the forest in a modern and minimalist cabin with all the comforts while leaving a minimal ecological footprint. The interior design style? Scandinavian design and natural materials that blend in well with the surrounding nature. The houses are named after Jesper and Petra's children: Esther, Ebbe and Vilgot.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe houses are on wheels and have large windows that give the feeling that you are in the forest even though you are actually inside. Care was taken when choosing the interior finishes and materials to ensure they were natural. The design was made to make the most of the solar panels. Additionally, the houses were built by a local company that used as many local materials as possible and was also very keen to make the houses as sustainable as possible.

FoodThere is a sustainable breakfast package at INFOREST that can be bought at the local shop. Jesper and Petra also try to put together a food package with the local shop and buy as much local and organic as possible.

EnvironmentThe small houses are powered by solar energy stored in batteries. Jesper and Petra are also keen to encourage guests to use resources, both electricity and water, carefully. Since the houses have a built-in water tank and a water level gauge, visitors become very aware of their water consumption.
