A morning in Dreesch7 in the Uckermark region begins after a restful sleep with a view of the orchard, bathed in the morning sun, the birds in the garden, or a pretty rosebush.
The holiday apartment, surrounded by imposing, thick walls, creates a feeling of security. On cool, gray days, you can sit on the large windowsills, read, drink tea, observe the garden, and dream the day away, or take a sauna session and then relax in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine. The garden offers many secluded spots for lounging, playing games, or barbecuing. There are also fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and various edible wild plants and flowers, which can be harvested depending on the season. Those looking for more than just a vacation but a place for creative work will find plenty of space in the garden, as well as inside.
The house was built in 1900 as a large sheepfold. At that time, the stable belonged to a farm, but in 1936 it was converted into a separate farmstead. After a year and a half of searching, the hosts discovered this stable and purchased it in early 2015.
Behind Dreesch7 are two creative minds: Norbert Fliege, architect and owner of a small construction company, and Christiane Lünskens, managing director of the Society of Friends of the Technical University of Berlin, scenographer, and information scientist. Christiane is also a passionate gardener and cook. Both share a great passion for traditional craft techniques, recycling, and sustainable construction and renovation.

ArchitectureThe building consists of 80 cm thick brick walls plastered with open-pore lime, creating a very pleasant indoor climate. Wild bees nest in the joints of the brick walls. Barn swallows use the ventilation openings in the walls of the former stable, which now houses the hosts' workshop, as flight paths for their nests. During the renovation and repair, care was taken to reuse as much as possible, using traditional craft techniques and primarily using putty lime and linseed oil paints. The furnishings consist of heirlooms, vintage furniture, or unique pieces crafted in the workshop. The same applies to the garden furniture. Whenever possible, products from regional suppliers were used, such as wood, gravel, plaster, and insulation material, which come from the Uckermark region. The atmosphere in the rooms was very important to the hosts, which is why they opted for a calm and aesthetically pleasing Nordic design with clear colors and authentic materials. All rooms are spacious and receive morning sun. On cold days, it's warm and cozy in front of the fireplace, and on hot days, it's cool, so nothing stands in the way of an undisturbed night's sleep, even in tropical temperatures.
FoodAt "SupperClub@Dreesch7" menus are served with seasonal, regional ingredients or home-grown produce. Purchased products are organic and primarily from regional suppliers. The head chef recommends booking a table well in advance. Hardly anyone can resist the wild herb salad with edible flowers or the homemade sorbets. The same applies to other farm specialties: grilled game, fresh fish, fresh vegetables and herbs, as well as jams, chutneys, homemade sauces and pesto, pear or plum schnapps, juices, and syrups. Vegetarian dishes are also offered, and special dietary requirements are catered for.
The two hosts manage the farm alone. They regularly support the unconditional basic income with donations.
EnvironmentPlastic and disposable items are largely avoided. Guests can use handmade and reusable cosmetic pads and dishcloths in the holiday apartment or purchase them in the on-site shop. Cleaning and dishwashing detergents are biodegradable and/or homemade household remedies. Great importance is attached to an animal-friendly garden with deadwood hedges, hedges with bird-friendly native shrubs, and wildflowers. The orchard and vegetable garden features mature fruit trees and vegetables, which are carefully tended. Dreesch7 regularly provides information on environmental aspects on its own blog and via social media.
Well-Being"Well-being" is described here as a path to creativity: Instead of working with the head, you can work with your hands and try out new materials. Learning new things and experimenting has many meditative elements, and when guests finally hold a product in their hands, they are filled with a sense of pride and satisfaction that they can also take home with them. Physical activities such as yoga, Qi Gong, or Tai Chi in the garden are always possible. Yoga mats are available for this purpose. A sauna was built in the former chicken coop. The Uckermark region is also ideal for cycling, carriage rides, swimming (two lakes in the village are within walking distance), surfing and kitesurfing in the neighboring village, hiking, jogging, long dog walks, and extensive wildlife watching.
