Der Lederer Hof

Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany

The Lederer Hof is a boutique hotel with apartments on Lake Tegernsee in Upper Bavaria. The courtyard stands for Bavarian minimalism, which combines traditional elements, such as wrought iron lamps, with modern ones.

This resulted in 22 cozy apartments that were designed with many natural materials such as wood. The spacious rooms with their own balcony or terrace invite you to linger. The larger apartments are equipped with a large seat cushion with a rocking chair for extra comfort. It is a special concern of the host family that the guests feel at home in the Lederer Hof.

The farm used to be a family-run farm and is now run by the third generation of the Schabmair family. Today Laura and Roxan Schabmair welcome their guests who have known this since their childhood days. It was a great pleasure for them when their parents entrusted the farm to them. Her vision is to give the guests a unique "Tegernsee feeling".

For them this means conveying a pleasant sense of home by creating a connection between tradition and modernity. And enable guests to enjoy a vacation that they would like to experience themselves. The motto is: Everything can, nothing has to be done. And so the guests can combine their stay at will - breakfast and cleaning can be booked optionally and only for individual days.

You can find the hosts' favourite recipe to try in the kitchen whispers.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe farm includes one of the oldest farmhouses in the valley, which was built in a traditional style typical of the region. In the course of the renovation, old pieces of furniture (peasant chairs or a spruce table) were refurbished by hand in order to give them a new life. The old farmhouse parlor door was also given a modern frame and is now used as a sliding door at the reception. Each apartment was also equipped with an individual farmer's cupboard, which was bought second-hand in the region and then repaired. In the breakfast room, covered wooden beams were exposed and the old stoves were consciously preserved. The floor used is high-quality solid oak parquet, the furniture is largely made of spruce and oak. During the renovation work was carried out exclusively with regional handicraft businesses and the pieces of furniture were mostly made of local wood, in cooperation with carpenters, especially for the farm. The interior was designed with natural colors and local materials. Some of the beds were designed in-house and are equipped with COCOMAT natural mattresses. Most of the furniture we bought was sourced locally or from small (wood) manufacturers.

FoodThe Lederer Hof offers a rich breakfast between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Particular attention is paid to cooperation with regional suppliers, for example fresh bread and rolls are delivered daily by a local baker in Rottach-Egern, cheese and sausage are obtained from the natural cheese dairy Tegernseer Land or the nearby Miesbacher butcher shop. Egg dishes from free-range chickens are also served and the coffee comes from Coffee Circle. A vegan breakfast can be ordered in advance and we are happy to pay attention to intolerances. Guests will also find many recommended restaurants within walking distance that serve local dishes. In the own café there is coffee, a spritz or a wheat beer all day - orders can be placed at reception.

The accommodation offers the "TegernseeCard", with which guests can take part in bus transport in the district and in some cases also in boat and train rides free of charge. The initiative aims to minimize individual traffic in the region. The coffee is obtained from Coffee Circle, an organization that supports social projects with a certain amount per kilogram of coffee sold. The hosts Laura and Roxan support the local volunteer fire brigade and are members of Greenpeace and the WWF. They also have a sponsorship with the German Animal Welfare Association and one with SOS Children's Villages.

EnvironmentSustainable cleaning agents such as those from Sonett and Frosch are primarily used in the Lederer Hof. Guests decide for themselves when and how often their towels and bed linen are changed. Regional products are served at breakfast and we generally try to avoid plastic. The garbage is separated into glass, cardboard, bio and plastic, the windows are also triple glazed. The guests receive sustainable hygiene products (shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and soap) from the Stop The Water While Using Me brand in reusable dispensers.
