Meadows, fields and vegetable gardens right outside the door, clear mountain air and the wide valley around Gais: Perntalhof is a place where nature sets the rhythm. In the mornings, dew lies on the meadows, and in winter, deer sometimes wander by.
Since March 2025, the Perntal Retreat has welcomed guests seeking a conscious slowdown. Hosts Annamaria Moser and Markus Peintner, along with Annamaria's parents Anton and Maria Moser, run a true family project with heartfelt dedication. Their vision: to preserve and develop this special place and to help guests reconnect with nature.
The five holiday apartments are retreats with a guaranteed chill-out atmosphere. Generously sized and nestled into the landscape, they reflect the surrounding colors: moss green, warm sunset orange, and soft milky white. Natural materials such as wood, linen, and stone create a warm, cozy ambiance.
The culinary heart and absolute favorite spot at Perntalhof is the Mountain Trattoria with its open show kitchen and large sun terrace. Once a week, Annamaria and Markus host Cook & Meet there in the evenings – themed culinary evenings with wine pairings and fascinating insights into life on the farm. Seasonal and regional ingredients, many homemade and sourced directly from the farm. Seemingly simple dishes that then dance a tarantella on the palate. Combined and seasoned with a view beyond the plate and the surrounding mountain peaks. And of course, wine à la carte. Unexpectedly fantastic.
The farm combines the good life with rural authenticity: a touch of "holiday in the vegetable jungle," a hint of South Tyrolean serenity. Here, enjoyment is conscious, often featuring farm-grown and seasonal products, close to the source of the food. And when night falls, the true quality of this place reveals itself: absolute silence, a clear starry sky, and only the gentle sounds of nature all around.

The Perntal Retreat combines the charm of traditional farmhouses in Gais with a timeless, natural design. A pitched roof, wood, and stone create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, while energy-efficient construction ensures the farm's sustainability. Regional materials and suppliers were consistently used throughout the project.
Food scraps are put to good use and used to fertilize the fields. Meat, vegetables, fruit, and dairy products for the small farm shop are all produced on the farm. An aperitif featuring farm-fresh products is also served in the apartment – all homemade and prepared with love.
Waste is consistently separated, the building was constructed to the energy-efficient KlimaHaus A standard, and a solar power system supports the energy supply. Water is used specifically for irrigating fields and the vegetable garden.
