De Rheezer Kamer

Rheeze, Overijssel, Netherlands

A village harmoniously arranged in a circle, a harmoniously renovated farmhouse and a small, thatched, small stable that has been stylishly converted into a bed and breakfast. Inside you will find stylish, selected furniture, in light, gray-white colors.

What can you expect here? Freedom for the eyes. Peace to the lungs. Rest for the brain and ears. Relaxation all along the line.

And all in the middle of the Netherlands, not far from the German border on the Vechte river, which meanders through an exceptionally varied landscape of sand, dunes, forests and heathland. A well-developed network of cycling and walking trails runs through the countryside from the property.

In the large private living area of the Rheezer Kamers there is enough space to spread out comfortably and outside the garden and terrace and the small café with homemade cakes and snacks. In addition to the friendly welcome, the hostess also offers an extremely diverse range of excursion tips for every taste.

Sustainable

Architecturein March 2008 the long search for a place to live and work for Astrid Fidder and her husband was finally over. When the two arrived at the large courtyard building from 1873, they were immediately in love with the house and this "heavenly piece of earth". Accordingly, little or nothing was changed during restoration and renovation. Only the original simple beauty of the structure is restored. The thatched barn of the farm was opened to a large room up to the ceiling and thus converted into an 85sqm guest house that opened in 2012. All work was carried out with the help of local craftsmen and artists. And new furniture was created from old beams and planks.

FoodAt breakfast and in the small café, special Fairtrade organic coffees and fresh, regional and organic products from the area are used. Milk, cheese, bread, sausage and eggs come directly from local farms. And the cakes and pies in the café are all homemade.

EnvironmentAt B&B De Rheezer Kamer, of course, green electricity comes from the sockets with which electric bicycles can also be charged free of charge. They are cleaned with organic cleaning agents and the waste is separated. Furniture and fabrics are plastic-free and the bed is made of organic cotton, wool and horsehair and covered with linen.
