"The Farmhouse" is a modern interpretation of a historic barnyard and is made entirely of wood. The premium holiday home is perfect for families and groups and is picturesquely located on the Moselle heights. With facilities that are unique in Germany - with a large garden, pool, sauna, peace and panoramic views.
Jessica and Holger Maurer have been hosting guests in their Moselle chalets with great passion for some time now. When looking for a new project, they initially had precise ideas about an old farm with a large garden and barns, which they wanted to convert according to ecological criteria. When, after a long search, no suitable property was found, they quickly bought a property in the picturesque village of Lieg above the Moselle. Here they were able to build a house according to their ideas and without any ecological compromises from the groundbreaking ceremony - together with the award-winning architect and artist Wolfgang Fischer.
The luxury holiday home has been available to rent for up to fourteen people since July 2023. The high-quality equipment really leaves nothing to be desired and at the same time is built to the highest sustainability standards. The large living area is flooded with light and the open kitchen area invites you to cook together. Depending on the season, you can make yourself comfortable together on the sunny terrace or in the cozy couch area in front of the fireplace. Stylish designer furniture, modern colors and high-quality wooden fittings ensure modern comfort. Many beautiful ideas, such as the stair slide for children or doors that look like barn doors, ensure individual style.
Here you can spend a relaxing family vacation, a short trip with friends or a connecting retreat with colleagues, because there is enough space and variety for everyone. There is a fitness room, a garden with a greenhouse, an outdoor kitchen with a grill and fire pit, and a sauna with a hot tub. The central location of the site is the beautiful outdoor pool with sun loungers in the middle of the flowering garden. If the region wasn't so beautiful and invites you to go on a variety of excursions, you could simply spend your time completely on the property and relax and unwind.

ArchitectureAs with their first construction project, the Mosel Chalets, the owners opted for a wooden house with a complete wooden facade. The origin of the wood and the supply chains are 99% traceable. The wood is also PEFC certified, i.e. from ecological and sustainable forestry. Sustainable criteria were fundamental when selecting materials for each construction phase. The stone for the outdoor areas is limestone and comes from near Würzburg. The pool enclosure not only makes the pool child-safe, it also ensures that the swimming pool is heated in an energy-saving manner. The carpenters who were involved in the construction and the garden architect come from the immediate area. Environment: The solar roof with its own solar system and heat pump ensures cozy warmth. The collected rainwater is used to irrigate the garden and flush toilets. The mattresses are from COCO-MAT - they are handmade, metal-free and made exclusively from natural materials. Of course, cleaning is only done with organic products and the waste is separated. The CO2 emissions are calculated and offset.
FoodThe wine fridge contains a curated selection of wines from the local area. Vegetables grow in the garden that guests are welcome to use. If necessary, you can also order a full refrigerator.
The farmhouse only works if the family stays together. From the grandson to the grandmother, three generations are involved here and all help together so that the guests feel comfortable in the house and, inspired by the beautiful and appreciatively built and furnished house, also show honor to the surrounding environment. The honesty bar sells, among other things, honey from a bee colony at the community elementary school.
Well-BeingSwimming pool with roof, sauna house, hot tub and yoga fitness room. Massages can also be booked.
