Das blaue Pferd

Zehdenick, Brandenburg, Germany

Summer resort at the gates of Berlin. In Brandenburg just 60 km north of Berlin Sophies guest house. If you want to spend a few dreamy days here, you should bring along a stylish bike and a muslin apron dress with straw hat or corresponding linen trousers and shirts to fit into the picture. The easel and watercolor box would not be out of place either, to sketch one or the other summer picture of the colorful flowers around the house or a quick portrait of his loved ones against the background of the atmospherically furnished rooms.

The old Vierseithof has been restored with a tender hand under sustainable aspects and in accordance with the monument. Exterior entirely original with ornamental stucco and the traditional dark red brick, inside with old floorboards, tiled stoves and clay walls and as an antique collection collected together from all kinds of storage and cellar rooms and decorated with a special attention to pastel color design. That here artists were at work is clearly visible.

Especially for creatives creative the farm is ideal to escape for a few days or even longer from the city. Directly behind the house it goes for miles in the nature, the neighbors are far enough away and the yard by its four sides anyway like a secluded world all to itself. Under these circumstances, one can very well retire to work stays of a musical, writing or otherwise creative nature or enjoy his days off.

For rent are individual holiday rooms or entire parts of the house at moderate prices to individuals, families or groups. In the warmer months, the barn can be booked extra to host, for example, drawing classes or other creative or nature retreats.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe Grade II listed courtyard is a protected place, surrounded by the four buildings, almost like a small village square, where time seems to stand still and the visitor feels like a part of the historic rural idyll. This succeeds because the buildings were very carefully renovated and restored. Wherever possible, old wood radiates, new materials all come from the region. Used colors and oils are eco-quality. Inside are original tiled stoves, which also function as the only heating, and individual original half-timbered and mud walls as design elements.

FoodFresh ingredients are available in summer from the large organic fruit, herb and vegetable garden, and garden care can be provided.

The plan to use the farm also for creative and cultural work stays is intended to enrich cultural life in the region through exhibitions or other events.

EnvironmentThe owner of the farm, is an artist and focuses on environmental issues in her photographs, videos and sculptures. Sustainable action is self-evident and of great importance to them. Accordingly, the garbage in the guesthouse, of course, separated and all detergents and cleaning products are environmentally friendly. To conserve resources, all furnishings and utensils are recycled, recycled or self-constructed. Green electricity will come from the sockets, which in the future will be partly replaced by own solar and wind energy. The garden is watered with water from its own well.
