ArchitectureDuring the renovation, great importance was attached to preserving the original elements of the building. Mares, the typical stone from Mahón, was mainly used indoors and outdoors. The renovation was carried out with local companies. There are also various recycled or upcycled materials in the house, such as staff uniforms, second-hand antiques in the rooms and recycled carpets.

FoodThe menu is made from 100% local produce sourced from nearby suppliers. Cristine's motto is "dream global, eat local". A zero-waste approach is pursued in the restaurant. Leftovers are recycled or fed to animals. Various vegetarian dishes are served and the kitchen is happy to take food intolerances into account.

SocialThe employees are locals who live and work on the island. Sharing experiences and knowledge is very much appreciated. That is why the hostess passes on her knowledge to the employees, but also likes to learn from them and offers regular further training. The Menorca Preservation Fund and the Cristine Bedfor have signed a partnership agreement that provides the foundation with substantial funding to support projects related to local Menorca products. The common goal is to stimulate the consumption of local products as a cultural core element of the maintenance and promotion of the economic sector through responsible production with a longer-term vision, while at the same time regenerating and maintaining the island and the health of the country.

EnvironmentCristine Bedfor has received the sustainable quality seal "Menorca Biosphere Reserve". The seal is awarded to companies and accommodations that are committed to protecting the environment, culture and society of the island. It represents the obligation of producers, artisans and tourism companies to comply with a number of criteria that have been established in accordance with the values of the Menorca Biosphere Reserve. Such as reducing and recycling waste, including organic; to cultivate the garden with native plants in order to reduce water consumption, as these are adapted to the climate of the island; the reduction and introduction of environmentally certified cleaning products, the consumption of local products, both in the kitchen and in other areas of the hotel, the collaboration with local producers to publicize their work and the quality of the products made in Menorca; Energy savings through low-consumption lighting throughout the hotel and the use of machines that are certified for low energy consumption. The water is treated by means of osmosis.
