Chambre d’Amis by Alix

Gent, Flanders, Belgium

From the street you wouldn't guess that behind the brick house there is a beautiful garden with trees over a hundred years old, an antique greenhouse and lots of birds. The garden, sun terrace, lounge with seating area and bar are accessible to all guests.

Alix Aelterman personally and lovingly runs the small guest house "Chambre d'Amis by Alix". She herself grew up next door and played in the large garden as a child. Since 2015 she has used the premises for a private dinner restaurant with an event garden, the guest rooms were added later.

The warm interior with lots of wood, light fabrics and strong colors is a mixture of French flair, modern architecture and individual style. The tasteful decoration of design objects, precious flea market finds and souvenirs that Alix' father brought back from his trips to Africa ensure an eclectic look. In the Suite, a large bathtub ensures relaxation after extensive city tours in the green metropolis for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alix is a hostess through and through - she wants her guests to feel at home with her, to relax in the garden and enjoy life to the fullest. Your good food and the nice atmosphere - like with friends - are something very special and ensure a chilled city trip with enjoyment guaranteed.
