Welcome to our home. Welcome to your retreat in the heart of Malcantone. For guests and friends who take the time to pause, to discover with curiosity, to be surprised by what this unique place, its people and the diverse environment have to offer.
Allow yourself to be naturally immersed in the attitude to life and the peace in our Casa. Immerse yourself in the authentic, nature-loving southern Ticino. The Casa Santo Stefano Miglieglia combines an albergo and retreat, sustainability and stylish attention to detail, comfort and warmth in a light and tasteful way.
The Casa Santo Stefano is not an ordinary hotel in Ticino, nor is it a typical yoga hotel - it is a unique place for meeting and relaxation. Whether you are an individual traveller, a yoga retreat guest or a visitor who is only staying one or two nights or longer - everyone will find a temporary home here. We run our three lovingly restored, historic Ticino houses in Miglieglia, at the foot of Monte Lema, with great joy and deep respect.
We also featured this accommodation on our blog at Five Places in Winter . You can find the hosts' favorite recipe in the kitchen whispers to cook at home. If you want, you can take a look behind the scenes at Casa Santo Stefano on our blog.

ArchitectureThe Casa Santo Stefano looks back on a long history: it was owned by a doctor's family for seven generations before serving as a summer house for a Swedish family for 30 years. The conversion to a hotel 30 years ago was carried out by a bio-architect who treated the historic building with the utmost respect. The original structure of the house has been largely preserved and supplemented with natural materials and modern details. For example, metal windows were installed in the old window arches and each room was given its own bathroom, a successful combination of tradition and comfort. The furnishings of the Casa are deliberately simple and at the same time stylish. Antique wooden furniture, some from old monasteries or remote valleys, harmonize with modern accents. Many rooms are furnished with the original red terracotta stones, which create a warm atmosphere. The seminar room impresses with its oiled chestnut wood floor. The rooms vary in size and orientation, from simple and cozy to spacious, light-filled rooms, each with its own unique charm.
FoodAt Casa Santo Stefano, food is prepared with love, much of it homemade. We offer a vegetarian breakfast with high-quality, regional and organic ingredients, which allows you to start the day relaxed. For groups of 10 or more, we prepare delicious menus every other evening to delight the palate. On the other evenings, we invite you to discover the culinary diversity of the area; we take care of reservations and planning. If you like to cook yourself, you can use our well-equipped kitchens on request to realize your own culinary creations.
EnvironmentAt Casa Santo Stefano, we attach great importance to environmental protection and sustainable action. Our buildings have been restored and renovated with ecological aspects in mind. We use environmentally friendly, biodegradable products and avoid plastic as much as possible. Our food is mainly from regional and organic sources, which means we support local producers while protecting the environment. With water-saving systems and energy-efficient devices, we actively contribute to reducing our resource consumption. We also promote public transport by offering our guests the Ticino Ticket for free travel. Sustainability is not just a principle for us, but a central part of our daily actions.
Well-BeingAt Casa Santo Stefano, your well-being is the focus. In addition to yoga, Qi Gong and meditation retreats, we offer the opportunity to enjoy the untouched nature of Malcantone and to be pampered with relaxing massages. Our experienced therapists will help you reduce stress and find your inner balance. For holistic relaxation, we offer tailor-made packages that combine yoga, meditation and massages, for example. This way you can regenerate your body and mind and recharge your batteries in the peace and quiet of the Casa.
