CASA PORT

Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain

CASA PORT, a former fisherman's house, is located in the small, charming fishing district of Santa Catalina in Port de Sóller. A beautiful patio extends to the rear, protected from the sun and completely private. The sunny roof terrace, on the other hand, offers an impressive view over the harbor and the Tramutana mountains.

The historic old building houses a place of well-being: you can live, cook and relax together and you decide for yourself how much you want to experience. The spectacular nature combined with the narrow streets of the old fishing district and the good gastronomic offer ensure many varied hours around the holiday home.

The fisherman's house is around 120 years old and was completely renovated in 2015. A fishing family of seven lived there until 1970. The Sollerics, residents of Sóller, have always had a soft spot for the old fishing district. And so does the host Roland Weber, for whom it was only a matter of time to buy a house there.

The charm of the old house extends over a living area of 120 m² flooded with light, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open kitchen that combines dining and living space. The interior is a careful and loving mix of custom-made designs by local craftsmen and special finds.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe focus was on the respectful renovation of the historical stock. Only natural materials were used. In addition, an energetically sustainable concept was developed. The furniture consists of natural, mostly renewable, raw materials. Old building materials, such as the 100-year-old wooden door, were also reconditioned and used again. The architecture was equipped with modern technology: Both bedrooms have air conditioning, the ground floor and the bathrooms are equipped with underfloor heating. All the craft firms involved are from the region.

EnvironmentResources are consumed consciously and the latest technology is used, including with thermal insulation. Garbage is separated and only biodegradable, mild cleaning agents are used, as only natural materials are used. Various environmental organizations are privately supported. When the house is handed over, the guests receive information on the sustainable commitment of the host family.
