From this holiday apartment, which has been furnished with great attention to detail, guests can enjoy a breathtaking view. The view goes from your own patio into the valley of Los Valles, up to the fortress Santa Barbara above Teguise. The panoramic view extends from the pool plateau to the sea.
Casa Alegría stands for joy in original, rural Lanzarote, far away from mass tourism. The picturesque village of Los Valles exudes tranquility with its lanzarotine houses, which is completed with the surrounding nature, great views of the sky, play of clouds and romantic sunsets. Sometimes you have the impression that you are standing in the middle of a painting.
The Canarian house is one of the oldest houses in Lanzarote and was built after the eruption of the Timanfaya volcano around 1738, when the inhabitants of the island fled from the south to the north. The previous owners were friends with the Spanish painter and architect César Manrique, which is why he was a welcome guest at Casa Alegría. He also immortalized the house in some of his drawings.
In 2016, the current owners, the German-Italian couple Christina and Michelangelo, carefully renovated it and turned it into a piece of jewelery. They have been renting it out to guests since 2018. The two fell in love with the idyllic town of Los Valles from the very first moment. There they enjoy the quiet and seclusion, the old, cozy house with a view of the sea, and are happy to pass this on to their guests.

ArchitectureThe house in which Casa Alegría is located was built from field stones and clay. During the renovation, the latex paint was removed and the entire apartment was painted with lime plaster. Since the traditional Canarian houses are rather small and cozy, they have hardly any daylight - this was changed in the course of the renovation so that the living room and kitchen are now flooded with light. The work took place exclusively in cooperation with local providers and materials. Antiques and African elements can be found in the interior: Africa dominates in the living room, Morocco more in the bedroom; the landscape with its desert colors and the proximity to the African continent inspired the hosts.
EnvironmentVarious measures are taken to minimize the impact on the environment: waste separation, waste water is used for irrigation, guests decide when towels and bed linen are changed, glass, plastic and paper are recycled, alternative means are used for cleaning and food waste ends up the compost. The hosts are committed to animal welfare and to Greenpeace.
Well-BeingGuests can look forward to a pool in the garden. Yoga courses can be booked on request. As a classic homeopath, Christina can offer nutritional advice and accompany guests while they are fasting. In addition, Lanzarote is the ideal place for many outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, surfing, kite surfing and surfing.
