If you are looking for rest, this is the place for you. A deep, wide and strong silence lies over the black plain with the high volcanic funnels around it. Black coarse sand as far as the eye can see, spanned by azure in changing shades.
In order to be able to enjoy this spectacle from early to late, the walls of the suites are equipped with large and even larger glass surfaces so that the outside can also shine inside and the inside and outside belong together. The calm, expressive style of the interior matches the strong impression of the landscape. The suites are comfortably furnished for two people each with few but characterful pieces of furniture made of different materials, some of which were designed by themself.
Outside there are terraces and chabocos - wind-protected depressions in the volcanic gravel in which fruit trees have traditionally been planted and which are now available for relaxing and also for yoga classes. Various hiking or mountain biking trails run right next to the suites, and the Atlantic Ocean is nearby.
In the evening you can get a glass of wine from Gonzalo the owner, who is also very happy to take care of the wine growing.
We also featured this accommodation on our blog at Five places for adults.
ArchitectureThe suites have been built into existing farm and stable buildings. The traditional construction of these typical old Lanzarote buildings creates an ideal bioclimate in the rooms, especially in the hottest time of the year. The roofs of the buildings are traditionally flat in order to collect precipitation. The extensions were also built in the same style by local builders using as many natural materials as possible, such as clay and palm fibers.
FoodBreakfast is brought to the suites in the morning and consists of eggs from their own chickens, cheese and yoghurt from local goats, various types of bread and sweet pieces from the German baker who has settled nearby and of course an exotic selection of fruits from the island , Depending on the season, in fresh form or as homemade jam. Not to forget the volcanic honey from our own beehives. Vegetarian and vegan is possible on request.
The operators are involved in the "Salvar La Geria" nature conservation project, an initiative to protect the La Geria cultivation area, which is unique in the world. In addition, many of the ingredients for the breakfast for guests come from small organic goat farms in the surrounding area, which in turn means that they have a more secure income.
EnvironmentThe suites are located in the middle of an organic wine business. The interaction between people and the environment is carried out very carefully here. Of course, all rainwater is collected and used as many times as possible. Warm water is heated with solar energy and LED lamps help to save electricity. In addition to grapes, many other fruits are also cultivated and processed here. The bees that have found a home here and are looked after and cared for help again.
Well-BeingIn the morning a round of jogging or walking in the surrounding lunar landscape and after breakfast look into the blue sky. A yoga teacher will come on Thursday and Saturday to meet the needs of each guest. Massages are also possible on request.
Lanzarote Airport is only 10 km from the Buenavista Country Suites. A private rental car is recommended for further exploration of the island.
