As soon as you arrive, you can't help but fall in love with Borgo Belfiore. The historic stone houses blend picturesquely into the beautiful hilly landscape.
The history of the estate goes back to the 14th century. The villa, decorated with frescoes, even has an old private chapel. Pieter and Susanne, the owners, bought the Borgo in 2002 and opened it to guests after extensive renovations. Twenty years later, they handed over the management to Maud and Ronald. Anyone who has the chance to take part in the dinner or pizza evenings on offer should mark the date in their holiday calendar immediately.
The furnishings combine traditional architecture with enormous comfort. Old wooden ceilings, rustic stone walls and Italian fabrics with different natural patterns such as sunflowers or oleander can be found in the rooms. In addition, traditional ceramics ensure a beautifully set table. In the kitchen, the obligatory espresso pot is waiting on the stove.
The absolute highlight is the large infinity pool with a view of the landscape. In the distance you can see small villages on the hills. It is wonderfully quiet here. Under sails or umbrellas you can read, doze or play by the pool. The shady boules court, an inviting long table in the courtyard and a small alimentari with the best wines, fresh bread and cold drinks fit the all-round carefree package. In the evenings there are lanterns and fairy lights hanging in the trees everywhere - no one can escape the romance of this place.

ArchitectureThe old architectural style was retained during the renovation. With great attention to detail and the (re)use of old materials, the houses have retained their authenticity. Frescoes were recovered and partially restored, and the house chapel is still completely intact.
FoodThere is a small shop on site with freshly baked bread in the morning and a large selection of drinks. The regional wines are particularly good. Since no food is grown on the farm, all dinner evenings are ordered from local farmers. The seasonal menus are served with matching wines from local producers. When cooking, food waste is minimized and composted.
EnvironmentThe meticulous waste separation is explained in detail to the guests.
