B&B

B&B De Brenschutte

Laren, Gelderland, Netherlands

B&B De Brenschutte is nestled in the tranquil Dutch countryside, surrounded by meadows and trees. With a little luck, guests might even encounter hares or deer, perfectly rounding off the nature-based experience. The B&B opened in 2021 under the direction of Annemiek Driesprong, who, together with young local volunteers, transformed an old woodworking building into two lovingly designed accommodations.

The two cottages are individually furnished and immediately convey a feeling of home. The "Boskamer" feels cozy and cocoon-like, while the "Bloemenhuisje" exudes peace and serenity with its bright colors and plenty of natural light.

The hostess caters to people seeking peace and quiet and consciously taking time for themselves. Many come alone to reflect, leave everyday life behind, and reconnect with themselves – without feeling isolated. Annemiek is always nearby and, as a personal hostess, is available to answer questions or provide support without disturbing the retreat.

The surrounding area is characterized by tranquility, friendly people, and unspoiled landscapes. Those who like it can go hiking, observe the wildlife, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Sustainable

Architecture

B&B De Brenschutte is located in a carefully renovated former woodworking building. Only natural products are used in the garden and outdoor areas, and all necessary supplies are consciously sourced from local suppliers.

Food

There is hardly any food waste. Leftovers are used for the farm or fed to the chickens and sheep. In season, many fruits come from the farm's own garden, which is used to make jam and apple juice. All other ingredients come from local shops. Homemade items play a central role, including baking for guests.

Two or three young people from the village work at the B&B, primarily on weekends and during school holidays. The B&B also supports the local sports club and various events organized by the village church.

Environment

Solar energy supplies the accommodation in an environmentally friendly way, waste is systematically separated, and recycled materials are used. Only environmentally friendly cleaning products are used. Minimal waste is also a priority in the kitchen: Breakfast is prepared individually according to guests'wishes, ensuring that as little food as possible is wasted.

Well-Being

A five-day retreat is offered, including coaching, silent walks, foot spa or massage, and all meals. This retreat is called "YOUcation" and is aimed exclusively at Dutch-speaking guests due to the in-depth nature of the coaching component.
