The Abmeyer family had the idea for the "Auszeit Bauwagencamp" in 2019. Many cyclists who came by were always looking for accommodation close to nature. After a long planning phase, they opened their home in 2023 with the first three construction trailers.
They made the ecological trailers themselves from local wood. The wash house is built in timber frame construction and equipped with ecological insulating materials such as clay plaster. All criteria relating to the tree trailer should be sustainable. The trailers with their wooden terraces are designed so that you can enjoy nature from sunrise to sunset.
The accommodations are built with great attention to detail and furnished in different colours. The interior design is designed for naturalness, pleasant colors and lots of comfort. Floral wallpaper, raffia and wood ensure a modern feel. The small kitchen is equipped with two induction hobs, refrigerator, sink, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and other utensils.
Everything is green, croaking and chirping around - pure nature, so to speak. The accommodations, the large wash house and the kiosk trailer are connected with wooden walkways. So you can safely and comfortably take a shower at night or get a (sweet) night snack. In addition to mosquito repellent and drinks, there are above all wonderfully filled candy jars. A bit of Bullerbü for young and old - just a real break for everyone.

ArchitectureThe camp can be completely dismantled and recycled. Only materials with meaningful recycling return such as regional wood, wood fiber insulation and clay were used.
EnvironmentThe energy consumption is designed in such a way that only "green energy" is used: eco-gas and eco-electricity from 100% eco-suppliers. Cleaning is done as sparingly as possible with organic cleaners. In the region around the Steinhuder Meer, the green tree frog was almost exterminated, which is why part of the meadow is left to the frogs, including stone mounds built as winter quarters and planting suitable for the frogs.
