Aurora Viu Villa

Paros, Aegean Sea, Greece

As one of the first houses to be built in this region in the rather quiet north-east of the island in the early 1980s, the newly renovated "Aurora Viu" villa is blooming in a new light. And light is also the central theme here. On the first floor you can see the moon rising over the sea from the balcony. In the green inner courtyard, trees (including olives, eucalyptus and palm trees) provide pleasant natural shade in summer. The whitewashed house shines brightly in competition with the sun. In addition, the sky shines intensely blue - a real picture book Greece.

The generously designed house is 240 square meters and has a very well-kept large garden. It is just a two minute walk from the sea. The different sleeping areas are all equipped with balconies or terraces. This gives the entire building a pleasant airiness. In addition, the modern and minimalist-stylish furnishings, which at the same time appreciate the traditional architecture. The wooden ceiling in the living room provides a warm contrast to the clean stone floor. Shells and stones from the beach serve as decoration, and a few tasteful pictures are casually leaning against the walls. The owner is a goldsmith living in Athens, who works a lot with natural materials herself and has used her eye for beautiful details when furnishing.

In the perfectly equipped kitchen, friends and families can cook together after a wonderful day at the beach. Traditional wicker baskets invite you to shop for regional delicacies. From the kitchen you can reach the patio, where you can enjoy the food you have prepared together - slowing down can be so nice.

Sustainable

ArchitectureThe minimalist architecture immediately induces relaxation and calm. All materials and colors are harmoniously coordinated. Nature sets the tone here - wooden antiques, built-in stone furniture and floors, warm natural tones, indirect lighting and upholstery made from natural fibers. During the renovation, care was also taken to ensure that the old tree population was preserved.

The owner takes care of about 40 street dogs in her house in Athens.

EnvironmentWater is a valuable commodity on all Greek islands, so rainwater is collected in the villa and used to irrigate the garden. A solar system is used to generate warm water. In addition, the "Clean Blue Paros" initiative is supported, which aims to make Paros the first plastic-free island in the Mediterranean.

Well-BeingOn request, yoga classes, personal training and massages can be booked as well as horseback riding on the beach, cycling, hiking or boat trips. If you need more action, you can attend kite and windsurfing courses in the area. Be sure to ask about vegan and vegetarian restaurant tips in the area. And if required, you can even hire a private chef.
