Sustainable

ArchitectureThe architecture of the house is a nice balance between the old and the contemporary. As a rule, work was carried out with materials from the region such as Leccese stone, tuff and local wood. Wherever possible, existing materials such as old floors and doors were refurbished and reused during the renovation work. The interior consists of a loving mixture of antiques, flea market and new design pieces by excellent local craftsmen, made from raw materials such as wood, metal and natural materials.

The operators support the local theater, for example by providing free accommodation for the guest actors. Once the visit of the famous Italian actor Toni Servillo came about in this way.

EnvironmentIn Agrumeto, solar heat is used for the heating water. An old rainwater tank was put into operation to water the plants in the garden and on the terraces. The importance of environmental protection is lived by all employees. Instead of aggressive cleaning agents, natural variants such as vinegar are used to clean the bathroom and the windows, instead of aggressive chemicals. The Leccese stone in the interior is only treated with wax and Marseille soap. The pool has a low consumption filter pump and is disinfected with salt. Garbage is separated and recycled.
