The Saveriako and Lydia apartments are located in a quiet olive grove in the mountains with breathtaking sea views. There is no internet and TV here. But you can see from the veranda, surrounded by beautiful flowers and fragrant herbs, how the Aegean blue sea merges with the bright blue sky on the horizon.
In 2005, the native Italian, globetrotter and trained chef Saveriako settled here and gradually converted the small farm in the middle of an olive grove into a cozy retreat. The furniture of the two apartments is made entirely from recycled materials. “Our passion is to give new life to things that may be rubbish to someone else. We enjoy working on it and are inspired by what we find, ”says Saverio.
The spacious, light-flooded and lovingly furnished studio (75 square meters) is ideal for group vacations by groups of friends or families. In the olive garden you can relax in the hammock or read a book on a bench. Breakfast tastes twice as good on the sun terrace. Regional delicacies can be prepared on the grill. There is a market with fresh, local products just a few minutes from the apartment.
A beautiful Italian mocha tastes at any time of the day in Saverio's bistro, which does everything to sweeten the best time of the year for its guests. Starting with tips to explore the most beautiful corners of Crete, insider knowledge of the wonderful beaches of the island to cooking classes organized by himself. Here the passionate cook teaches the basics of Italian and Greek cuisine - including olive oil tastings. Organic products from our own garden and from friends of our farmers are preferred.
In the house in the mountains, a cool wind awaits the guest after a hot day on the beach. A car is recommended, but not essential to reach the beautiful beaches in the area. Strategically located in the north of the island, the apartments are an ideal place to explore Crete. Car or motorcycle rental is available at special prices. In the nearby village of Agia Pelagia there are typical taverns where you can enjoy fresh fish and the original Cretan cuisine. There are also all kinds of offers for water sports and diving trips.
ArchitectureThe former small farm is located in the middle of an olive grove. All apartments are personally decorated by Lydia, a Dutch designer. The style is modern and "easy chic". Hand-made creations and the typical Greek colors, blue and white, dominate the furnishings. Many pieces are vintage and come from old Cretan houses.
EnvironmentThe hot water comes from a solar heating system, process water from the bistro is used to water the plants, and energy-saving lamps are used.
