B&B

Adamah Vayu

Loulé, Algarve, Portugal

Adamaha Vayu is a quaint B&B in an old quinta from 1880 that has been lovingly renovated without losing its charm and thick walls.

When guests get up and step out onto the porch, they look out over the park-like garden with mature trees and a variety of palm trees. Especially in the morning you can see and hear many colorful birds in the garden. The small stream fed by the underground reservoir is a highlight, as is the orchard, which is home to orange, lemon, plum, avocado, pomegranate, olive and pomegranate trees. Original and local tree species such as the carob tree, a gnarled cork oak, pines and eucalyptus can also be found there. The quinta blends harmoniously into the property and the special garden.

The hosts are Thilo and Nadin with their son Noah. Together they have realized their dream and created a meeting place that can grow with them and the guests. With each guest another new page is described at Adamah Vayu. The family has traveled to Portugal several times, including to surf there. Since they longed for the beautiful, rough nature, they went looking for a suitable property with a real estate agent. It seemed much too expensive to Thilo and Nadin, but otherwise just right to turn their backs on Germany and build a new home here.

Adamah Vayu means "Earth Wind" and very aptly describes the atmosphere of the place. The village of Loulé is only 15 kilometers from the beach and the property itself offers absolute tranquility and rural surroundings.

Sustainable

ArchitectureAll furniture is made from the sustainable, rapidly renewable raw material bamboo. During the renovation, the original architecture was taken into account and implemented by local companies.

EnvironmentThe thick walls of the quinta insulate well in summer and always create a pleasant climate. The water comes from our own well and electricity is generated by solar cells. There is a cooperation with the Munich label "Less Waste Club", from which sustainably produced shampoos and soaps are available in the rooms for the guests. The hosts themselves organize beach cleanups and paddle tours with their own project "No Plastic Ocean", in which guests can get involved in experiencing and preserving nature directly.

Well-BeingThe 12 meter long pool is embedded in the huge garden and offers a special kind of relaxation. The garden has some quiet places ready for meditation and yoga. For a small additional charge of 15 euros per stay, guests can rent natural rubber yoga mats and blocks.
