The special feature of Villa Castanza in Sardinia is the fantastic sea view that is offered - 180° to the north-eastern island of Tavolara. The villa is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and large trees. A tall pine tree provides shade on hot days.
The villa is in a secluded location, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquility while still being within easy reach of all that is happening on the island. About 30 years ago the hostess' father, Francesca, found the old stazzu (Sardinian farmhouse) and fell in love with the view and the seafront location. Since then it has served as the family's summer house and is occasionally rented out to friends and guests.
The peaceful atmosphere, the unique view of the clear, turquoise water and two beaches within walking distance make a holiday at Villa Castanza an unforgettable experience. All kinds of sports activities can be undertaken around the villa, such as trekking, hiking, swimming and windsurfing.

Sustainable
ArchitectureThe villa is an original "stazzu" and has been preserved in its originality. The villa was built and extended around the existing farmhouse. The villa is practically integrated into nature - all materials, such as the Sardinian stone, the linen and the chestnut wood, come from the region.
FoodThe villa's housekeeper produces his own organic olive oil, which guests can buy from him along with various vegetables and eggs.
EnvironmentThe villa is equipped with water-saving taps and a new and efficient hot water system has been installed. The light bulbs and heaters are energy efficient. Garbage is properly separated in the villa. No chemical products are used in the garden.

It is not possible to reach the villa by public transport. From the port of Olbia it takes about 20 minutes to drive to the villa (15 km). It takes about 15 minutes (11 km) from the airport. The exact address can be found on the website.
