Rosy's

Agistri Island, Aegean Sea, Greece

The white buildings nestle into the rock, bougainvillea adds impressive splashes of color to the scenery, and the direct view of the glittering sea takes your breath away upon arrival. This small resort is a little paradise with a wow factor.

You immediately feel welcome; the resort is small and cozy, offering something for everyone. The hospitable Rosy, for whom the resort is named, is largely responsible for the warm and convivial atmosphere. She and her husband, Nonda, started with their first apartment in 1973 and have gradually expanded their offerings ever since.

The day begins with a generous buffet, and breakfast is enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the sea. Afterward, a stone staircase leads down to the beautiful pebble beach belonging to the resort, where you can swim in the sea or sunbathe to your heart's content. Rosy also has a large shelf stocked with books and games that everyone is welcome to use. There's always a secluded spot in the garden where you can read undisturbed or simply relax.

A definite highlight are the yoga classes right by the sea. In addition, the hotel offers Shiatsu and reflexology massages, Qi Gong, NIA (a Far Eastern-inspired fitness program for body and mind), and much more to help you find your inner peace.

Lunch, served on the beautifully landscaped terrace, contributes significantly to recharging your energy with its consistently fresh, nutritious, and incredibly delicious ingredients. Afterward, you can stroll through the village, explore the rest of the beaches in the hotel's own motorboat, or take excursions to nearby islands. F

or those seeking a more active experience, a hike through the island's dense pine forests is a must. As the sun dips below the horizon, bringing the day to a close, a sundowner cocktail awaits at the bar. And then, there's plenty of Greek music to enjoy…

We also featured this accommodation in our "Five Places by the Sea" series .

Sustainable

Architecture

The "village" is a jigsaw puzzle of whitewashed rooms right by the sea, nestled among the surrounding pine forests. Everywhere you look, there are cozy nooks and places to relax. A central feature is the large terrace where guests can gather and enjoy their meals. The rooms are simply and rustically furnished.

Food

The majority of the fresh vegetables and fruit come from the restaurant's own certified organic garden, with the remainder sourced from local farmers. Meat and fish are also exclusively from the region. The cuisine could be described as "Greek with a touch of fusion": grilled fish, various salads, pies, and delicious appetizers. The generous breakfast buffet offers something for everyone, including gluten-free and lactose-free options. The restaurant also provides suitable dishes for vegetarians and vegans.

The employees live on the premises. The local shuttle service between the islands of Agistri and Aegina is supported.

Environment

Environmental protection is a high priority at Rosy. Solar energy is used on the premises. Employees and cleaning staff receive regular training on environmentally friendly practices.

Testimonials

The little island of Agistri is just beyond Aegina, only 45 minutes by hydrofoil from Piraeus, but if you know where to go it can be a magical place. Rosy’s is a good example of this, set around a rocky cove studded with swimming platforms. Accommodation is simple but comfortable and welcoming.
