The spectacle of the morning mist that surrounds the house is absolutely magical. In spring you can watch the green woodpecker in the pastures for breakfast, in winter the greylag geese pass behind the dike. Behind the name "Pfarrhaus Mödlich" hides a rural idyll in the unique nature of the Brandenburg Elbe valley.
The old rectory from 1865 stood empty for more than 20 years and decayed until the current owners, Frîa Hagen and Volker Warning, carefully renovated it, without losing its charm. Today the rectory shines in a friendly yellow and invites you to spend relaxing days in every season.
Even if the weather does not really play along, guests feel at home in the stylish and puristically furnished apartments with chandeliers, beautiful cupboards, splendid taps and lively materials. Every detail is just right here - from the tasteful interior, to the silver cutlery and the welcome bouquet.
The location of the house, surrounded by a large park with a pond and old trees right behind the Elbe dyke, quickly puts stressed townspeople into relaxation mode. Small and large bathing lakes alternate with the last migrating dunes in the north of Germany, thousands of migratory birds rest here every year. Switch off, ride a bike, watch birds, read a good book - there is no "I have to", just "I can if I want". The neighbors are storks, sheep, chickens, snails, tree frogs, nightingales, flowers and every now and then a few cyclists walk by.
In addition to the natural experience in the UNESCO Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve, the cities of Ludwigslust, Schwerin, Perleberg, Dömitz and Lenzen offer cultural attractions. If you want a bit of company in the nearby area, you can stop by at the Elbeglück garden bar just 600 meters away, to the right of the church, and enjoy homemade cakes.
Just a short walk across the dike you will find yourself on the lonely Elbe sand beach. The much denser Wendland can only be seen on the other side of the river. Whether with children who can let off steam in the large garden under the trees or as a couple in love, the magic of this place, which seems to be far from the world - pulls everyone under its spell.
FoodThe nearest shops (supermarket, bakery, butcher'
s shop and others) can be found in Lenzen or Dömitz, six kilometers away. The bakery trolley visits twice a week. You can also order a breakfast box filled with all sorts of delicacies such as homemade jam, yoghurt and sausages from the Brandenburg butcher. A shopping or cooking service is also available on request.
EnvironmentThe choice of building materials was based on sustainable criteria. Great value and a long service life were taken into account. Garbage is separated and recycled in the rectory. The house is heated in an energy-saving manner by means of a heating integrated in the baseboards. In addition, the historic tiled stoves have been preserved or replaced in a stylish manner.
