The HÛS Chalets in the Black Forest were created as a tranquil retreat in the heart of nature, with the clear aim of consciously distinguishing themselves from the traditional holiday home vacation. The concept is based on a strong emphasis on reduction: less distraction, more nature, more time. Guests wake up to a view of the greenery, without noise or other distractions. Only the landscape, the light, and their own rhythm determine the day.
The surroundings are characterized by rolling hills, forests, high pastures, and, depending on the season, fog or snow clinging to the trees. In the mornings, the first sunlight falls across meadows and woodlands, creating a calm, clear atmosphere.
Architecturally, the chalets are inspired by Scandinavian design, combined with the materials of the Black Forest. Untreated wood, minimalist forms, and calming colors characterize the interior. Large windows bring nature directly into the room, enhancing the feeling of spaciousness and light, while the warm design simultaneously creates a sense of comfort and security.
HÛS Chalets embody a conscious slowing down and simplicity. The experience is characterized by guests deciding for themselves how they want to spend their time. The location offers direct access to hiking trails, meadows, and dense forests in one of the quieter regions of the Black Forest.

The chalets were built using solid log construction, creating a very natural feel. Inside and out, untreated wood predominates, ensuring a pleasant and healthy indoor climate. The shingle roof with hemp insulation draws on traditional Black Forest building techniques and reinterprets them in a clear, minimalist design. During construction, great emphasis was placed on regional sourcing and short supply chains. Materials from the surrounding area were predominantly used, especially locally sourced wood and natural insulation materials. The project was carried out in close collaboration with local craftspeople, including a local carpentry workshop.
The cuisine is strongly influenced by what the region and the current season offer. A conscious effort is made to minimize supply chains and foster close collaboration with local producers. Instead of a fixed menu, the offerings are based on current availability. Typical dishes include risotto with hand-picked porcini mushrooms from the surrounding forests. Depending on the season, game hunted in the Neueweg region is also featured.
HÛS Schwarzwald Chalets prioritizes sustainable energy supply through solar power and district heating, and is committed to a consciously reduced use of resources. The water used comes from the Belchen region and is high-quality spring water. Breakfast is served without any packaging, and single-use products are consistently avoided. This sustainable approach is further enhanced by meticulous waste separation and the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products throughout the entire establishment.
Each chalet has its own private whirlpool, and the separate sauna house can also be booked exclusively. Numerous hiking and cycling trails begin right outside the door, especially towards the Belchen mountain, inviting you to enjoy leisurely strolls or more active excursions. The focus is on experiencing nature, such as forest bathing, relaxing walks, and simple outdoor activities in the immediate vicinity.
