The homerie in the duke town of Sulzbach-Rosenberg houses six small, fine apartments. The old Fahrnholzhaus from 1900, which has served as a residential building since then, was completely renovated from March 2019 to April 2020. The Homerie guest house has opened its doors to guests since July 2020. The house previously belonged to the host Angela, who describes the vision and naming behind the guest house as "homemaking".
The idea is to accommodate mainly business travelers in the style of a boarding house and to make traveling as pleasant as possible for travelers. For many frequent travelers, life out of a suitcase is not a great joy. In the Homerie it should be different: the furnishings are individually designed; each apartment is named after a book hero or a location from selected books. The consistent style, with attention to detail and little highlights here and there, is well received by the guests. You feel good and can set up comfortably.
The accommodation is located in the heart of Sulzbach-Rosenberg. Directly opposite the Homerie is the picturesque St. John's Church, whose narrow footpaths, stairs and surrounding streets exude Italian flair.

Sustainable
ArchitectureThe house of the Homerie extends on the slope and is therefore accessible over three levels. Two apartments each can be reached via the entrance on the ground floor, the first floor and the top floor. The renovation was carried out according to building biology principles: interior insulation, lime plaster, biological paints and natural floors. The interior consists of solid wood furniture and recycled elements. The top floor is spacious with very high ceilings. The construction took place exclusively in cooperation with regional companies.
Angela and her husband support some social projects - they are members of Greenpeace (passive), the State Association for Bird Protection in Bavaria eV (active) and the Wanderverband Bayern eV (active). During the COVID-19 pandemic, they launched their own social projects: a shopping service for senior citizens, projects for nursing homes such as visitor boxes, gifts from kindergarten children to senior citizens, Christmas gifts to single people from the nursing school, organization of cake surprises for nursing staff in nursing homes and homes for the disabled, fundraising campaign for the local children's home; In addition, they are sponsoring members of Initiative Nepal eV and sponsoring members and board members of the Montessori School Amberg.
EnvironmentThe commitment to sustainability is communicated in a guest folder and the hosts are happy to answer any questions. In the Homerie, the garbage is separated, alternative cleaning agents are used and electronic devices are purchased that have low energy consumption. The fully equipped kitchen is equipped with Nespresso coffee machines: for the environmentally conscious and heavy drinkers with recyclable capsules. The bed linen (rental linen with Eco-plus) and towels are suitable for allergy sufferers and are climate-neutral; guests also receive high-quality hotel cosmetics such as shampoo, shower gel, soap and body lotion.

The Homerie can be reached from Nuremberg in just under an hour (68 km). From Bayreuth you also need just under an hour (73 km), Munich is just under 2.5 hours (204 km), Frankfurt around 3 hours (281 km) and Leipzig is also just under 3 hours (269 km). The exact address can be found on the website.
With public transport
Various buses run from the train station in Sulzbach-Rosenberg to Obersdorf. The bus stop "Oberschwaigstr" (alternatively "NMH Hochofen") is only 300 meters away from the Homerie. Alternatively, a train station shuttle can be organized from the main station Sulzbach-Rosenberg.
