A picket fence surrounds the garden, an old ladder leans against the gnarled pear tree, and beyond it open fields and meadows of wildflowers. In the mornings, the sun shines directly on your face; it is quiet, vast, and peaceful.
Hof Greut is a small, very personal retreat surrounded by nature, nestled in the rolling Alpine foothills between the mountains and Lake Constance. Anyone seeking peace, nature, and a true sense of arrival will find it here.
On a historic Allgäu farm, an exceptionally high-quality holiday apartment has been created, offering the comfort of a hotel and the privacy of a home. The guiding principle: small, refined, and personal. Host Rahel Cramer, with her keen eye for detail and great passion for design, has ensured that everything feels light, warm, and harmonious.
Inside, a cozy cabin atmosphere meets carefully selected design pieces: lots of wood, natural materials, muted earth tones, Thonet chairs, a Butterfly Chair, lovingly restored furniture, and high-quality bedding. Everything feels calm, light-filled, and stylish at the same time. Coffee and tea are always available, and the small self-service shop offers regional delicacies for everyday use.
The relaxation continues outdoors: a spacious garden, direct access to the meadow, a wood-fired hot tub in the middle of a field, plus yoga or massages upon request. Walks and bike tours begin right at the front door. The Allgäu region offers countless possibilities – from swimming lakes and alpine huts to cultural attractions in Kempten, excursions to Lake Constance, or to Neuschwanstein Castle.

Only natural, non-chemical building materials and paints were used, along with high-quality bedding made from pure natural materials. The wood-fired hot tub is intentionally chlorine-free to avoid polluting the surrounding area. Naturally, local craftspeople were employed, and old wooden floorboards and beams were preserved and reused to maintain the original character of the farm.
The shop's shelves, known as the "Schmankerleck" (delicacy corner), are stocked exclusively with regional foods, their own apple juice, and many organic products. The breakfast basket is also lovingly filled with homemade jams, baked goods without artificial leavening agents, and predominantly organic and regional products.
Heating and hot water are supported by solar energy, and waste is consistently separated. Cleaning is done exclusively with eco-friendly cleaning products, supplemented by free-to-use natural cosmetics – a conscious choice, as wastewater is treated in a private constructed wetland and is not connected to the public sewer system. Reusable slippers and washable kitchen sponges made from natural materials complete the environmentally friendly concept.
In the heart of nature, a wood-fired hot tub awaits, and guests can also book yoga or massages – perfect moments for relaxation and well-being.
