A breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Garda, wonderful tranquility and a private estate of almost three hectares - that's Favai Hills. The energy and tranquility of this place are unique. There are only four suites on the large property, so guests enjoy privacy and privacy.
The owners and hosts, Gerhard Stecher and Andreas Amort opened Favai Hills in 2022. One of the houses was built around 1900, the other was added around 1970. It was originally a farmhouse belonging to an Italian family who lived directly on the Lago and used it for the summer months - with a stable on the ground floor and the living quarters on the upper floors. The houses were then lovingly restored and have lost none of their time-honoured charm.
Each suite offers complete privacy thanks to its own garden and terrace. If you want, you can meet on the shared terrace or in the wine cellar, otherwise you can retire as you wish. The suites are stylish and modern, each unique. They were designed and furnished by the architects of "Berg & Tal" from South Tyrol. All furniture is custom-made, the colors are harmoniously coordinated. The suites are also a good size and flooded with light.
In an old stone cellar the two owners have created a trust bar/wine cellar. There the guests can enter at any time with their room card and get wines, drinks or small dishes.
ArchitectureThe old structure of the houses with the original stone walls has been preserved. This was partially opened and a lot of glass was used to allow the breathtaking view of the Lago. With these natural materials, Favai Hills integrates itself into nature and still exudes the flair of the old farmhouse. The additions were made of stone or wood, the house from 1970 was covered with wood. Stone floors (Rosso di Verona) from a local quarry were used on all terraces. The gardens were planted by a local company. Plants typical of the place, such as olive trees, were mainly used. All the furniture for the rooms, the bathrooms, the living area, the wine cellar or the kitchen was handcrafted by a carpenter.
FoodFavai Hills is a B&B and offers a real deluxe breakfast. The hosts pay a lot of attention to local products. The jam, for example, is cooked by yourself. The fruits such as strawberries or blackberries come from a cultivation in the same village. The cheese is bought in a cheese dairy in your own village. Meat and sausage products come mainly from local suppliers. The sweets for breakfast are homemade. Fresh juices and smoothies are produced and offered with seasonal products. Of course, the wishes of the guests are taken into account and intolerances such as gluten or lactose are taken into account. In each garden there is also a small herb garden with fresh herbs and mint. Since each suite has a kitchenette, guests can use it at any time for their home-cooked meals. A charcoal grill is also available.
All of the staff at Favai Hills are from the surrounding towns. Thus, the guests also have contact to the Italian culture. So is the masseur from the neighboring area. The hosts also plan to financially support a local animal shelter as a social project. The guests should also be involved in the future.
EnvironmentThere is a strong emphasis on sustainable practices at Favai Hills. This includes, among other things, waste separation in order to conserve valuable resources and reduce waste. The owners also rely on environmentally friendly methods for water collection. The rainwater is collected and used to water the plants. Another aspect of the sustainable orientation is the use of alternative cleaning agents. To generate clean energy, there is a photovoltaic system. In addition, the cleaning of the rooms is not offered automatically, but on request (included in the price). Instead of the usual key cards, guests also receive mobile keys that are sent to their private cell phones. In addition, the hosts try to plant as many trees and flowers for bees and butterflies as possible on their property.
Well-BeingFavai Hills features a Finnish sauna housed in an old stone house that used to be a goat pen. Some suites have a private jacuzzi. If desired, a local masseur can be called to offer massages directly in your own suite. The products used for the bathrooms are from Piroche's Not Just Bodycare line.
