Tiny House

DRAUSSEN

Blankenheim, Eifel, Germany

The Eifel is certainly considered one of the most beautiful regions in Germany. A very private retreat in this wonderful region is the OUTSIDE. Here you can surrender to the changing times of the day, the sound of the wind and the sky full of stars.

The two OUTDOOR cabins were built in spring 2023. The DRAUSSEN has been open to guests since July 2023. The hosts Astrid and Susanne met in 2020 while looking for a property in the Eifel, when each of them dreamed of a sustainable holiday home in nature alone. By chance, on one of these days in the Eifel, their paths crossed in a bakery. Susanne was just sticking a piece of paper with a property request on the window and Astrid spontaneously spoke to her. This is how OUTDOORS came into being.

The two cabins “Specht” and “Lerche” are inspired by nature and combine minimalist design with sustainability and modern comfort. The generous use of wood creates a warm, comfortable ambience and at the same time creates a connection to the surrounding meadows and forests.

The room concept is well thought out so that you can have a great day and night: In a minimal amount of space, guests will find a kitchen, bathroom, dining and sleeping area with comfortable equipment details such as internet, Sonos speakers, rain shower, panoramic windows for stargazing and many other loving details. Plus plenty of integrated storage space for everything that's important.

Sustainable

ArchitectureRobust spruce wood surrounds the cabin from the outside. The minimal house meets the highest construction and energy standards. The ecological protective housing forms the basis of the cabins. Cellulose insulation of high-quality building biology protects the house from the weather influences of rain, snow, wind and sunlight. The wooden facade gives the minimal house its unique look. The walls in the cabins are made of natural spruce wood. Underfloor heating creates pleasant warmth and the oiled oak parquet ensures a velvety-soft surface. The elegant, practical kitchens feature high-quality designer built-in appliances.

EnvironmentThe “Lerche” cabin has a solar system on the roof that supplies environmentally friendly green electricity. Attention is also paid to waste separation and biodegradable cleaning and care products are used.

Well-BeingThere is a sauna that belongs to Cabin Lerche. From July 2024 there will be a new sauna that belongs exclusively to Cabin Specht. The terrace of Cabin Lerche and the meadow in front of the cabins are perfect for yoga and meditation. Yoga mats are available in the cabins.
