The DIRINGLO invites you to travel back in time without sacrificing modern comfort. In the DIRINGLO you can take a vacation in a completely renovated monument with a 400-year history. Modern, selected furniture is in conscious contrast to the historical inventory. The special quality, materials and the details of centuries-old craftsmanship create an exciting atmosphere. DIRINGLO is an object that fascinates.
The building is a former farm that has been changed again and again over the centuries and adapted to new requirements. Thanks to the monument protection, the demolition of the farm and its 200-year-old parlor and furnishings could be prevented.
The three holiday apartments are designed completely differently. The modern, no-frills interior design, deliberately reduced to the bare essentials, is deliberately restrained. The "Seffa" apartment is historic and rustic, over three floors with many original furnishings in the original residential wing. Apartment "Kathi" (the former stable) is modern and at the same time very cozy with an original wooden beam ceiling, steel columns and exposed quarry stone masonry. The third holiday apartment "Luggi" (formerly the Tenne) with a height of up to 6 meters is flooded with light with a mountain view and offers 4 more beds in a gallery in addition to the bedroom. All apartments have a large wooden table for meals together, a quiet area for reading and relaxing and a wood-burning stove.
The hosts are the architect Stephan Rauscher and the entrepreneur Tobias Huber. They both grew up in the region around Ohlstadt and, despite their current center of life in Munich, have always remained connected to the area. It is your intention that the holiday home reflects the region and its rural and craft traditions. The DIRINGLO is therefore perfect for self-discovery and contemplation. The hosts were able to acquire the courtyard in 2017 and, after 17 years of vacancy, renovate it comprehensively and in accordance with historic monuments from 2019. The apartments have been rented out since autumn 2021.

ArchitectureWith as little intervention as possible in the historical building fabric, it should be used in a resource-saving manner and preserved for the next generations. The entire insulation consists of wood fiber. Lime plaster and lime paint were used for the walls. The wooden furniture was made from solid sycamore maple from the region by a local carpenter, and the Douglas fir wood flooring is from the Black Forest. To ensure sustainability in the groundwater area, the surface and roof surface water is returned directly to the groundwater. The garage was deliberately built using wooden blocks and not concrete. 80% of the craft companies involved come from the immediate region, specialists from a radius of a maximum of 50 kilometers. The interior design was primarily designed by Stephan Rauscher and Karin Lochner and implemented by regional craftsmen. For manufactured and industrial products, great importance was attached to the "Made in Germany" and "Made in Europe" seals.
EnvironmentThe accommodation is completely climate-neutral: its own solar power system, e-charging station for e-cars and e-bikes, hybrid heating consisting of a heat pump and natural gas heating. Electricity purchase 100% from hydropower from local energy suppliers, "wind gas purchase" from Green Planet Energy eG, rental laundry with CO2 compensation, use of eco-cleaning agents and primarily reusable building materials as part of the renovation. A card is available to guests for free use of local public transport in the region. Tobias Huber is active in the field of renewable energies, among other things he initiates regional solar projects. They inform the guests about their sustainable actions in social media and on their website and would also like to offer sustainability seminars / coaching.
Well-BeingA first yoga retreat will take place in-house in December. In 2022, yoga, workshops and experience rooms for community experiences will be offered. A yoga teacher can be requested for private lessons at DIRINGLO. There is also the option of booking the entire accommodation for a yoga retreat. The place and its immediate surroundings with nature, mountains, lakes and the Murnauer Moos invite every guest to recharge their batteries in their own personal way with hikes, mountain and bike tours. Ohlstadt is located on the Ammergau Alps meditation trail in the Blue Land. The entrance is easy to reach on foot from the DIRINGLO. Private cooking events can be requested.
