Casa Quintas is a lovingly renovated guesthouse near the Portuguese Atlantic coast, nestled between vineyards, rolling hills and the vast blue of the ocean.
What many guests particularly appreciate here is the feeling of immediate peace and security. Hosts Jord and Aranka transformed the 1994 house into a charming retreat in 2021 – with the aim of creating a place that offers more than just comfort: a true temporary home.
Each room has its own unique character, with hand-picked furnishings, natural materials, soft colors, and meticulous attention to detail. Warm earth tones, terracotta, soft pink, and dark wood blend with a lush green garden landscape and pool—perfect for relaxing.
Spectacular natural treasures await in the surrounding area: the UNESCO-protected Sintra-Cascais Nature Reserve with its mystical palaces, the royal hunting lodge Tapada Nacional de Mafra, and Ericeira – Europe's first World Surf Reserve with a unique coastal ecosystem. Culture, cuisine, and nature go hand in hand here. And those who like it can immerse themselves in the vibrant festival culture – from traditional village festivals to music and surfing events.

In the kitchen at Casa Quintas, quality meets regionality: The dishes are prepared with seasonal and, wherever possible, local ingredients – many of which are homemade, from jams and granola to fresh scones. Breakfast surprises with new delicacies every day, and leftovers end up either in the compost or with the animals. Traditional Portuguese dishes are also served at dinners or events. Even those traveling vegetarian, vegan, or with food intolerances are well catered for at Casa Quintas: The kitchen is flexible and lovingly tailored to different needs – without compromising on taste.
Together with a Portuguese employee, the hosts ensure that guests feel completely welcome – and are also committed to local animal shelters, which they support with food, blankets and other essentials.
Heating is provided by efficient heat pumps, breakfast changes daily to avoid food waste, towels are only changed when necessary, and waste is carefully separated.
On-site massages, a large pool for cooling off, and twice-weekly morning yoga classes are available. Those who want to explore the surrounding area can look forward to mountain bike tours, horseback riding excursions, surfing lessons, or ceramics workshops. Regular wine tastings round out the offerings.
