Casa Alicante is located in the small town of Busot on the Costa Blanca and is a place where you automatically unwind. Even in the morning, light streams into the Mediterranean garden of the holiday home, with its palm trees, other trees, and pool. Instead of traffic, you mainly hear birds and simply this peaceful, warm atmosphere that lasts all day.
Behind Casa Alicante is a Spanish-Austrian family: Andrés, a graphic designer from Andalusia, and Cathrine, a photographer. Together, they designed the house to reflect their way of life and work. The choice of Busot was deliberate. The location embodies much of what defines the region: proximity to the sea, mountains directly behind it, and an authentic Spanish everyday life without the surrounding mass tourism of the Costa Blanca.
The holiday home is furnished in a simple, Mediterranean style. Bright rooms, natural materials, and warm colors create a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Large windows let in plenty of light, making the outdoors feel like an extension of the living space.
As beautiful as the interior is, daily life here often unfolds outdoors: breakfast on the terrace, reading in the hammock, an afternoon by the pool, or long evenings dining al fresco. Those wishing to explore the surrounding area have plenty of options: the Cuevas de Canelobre are nearby, as are hiking trails in the Sierra del Cabeçó d'Or and small coves along the Costa Blanca coast.

The architecture of Casa Alicante thrives on the close connection between interior and exterior spaces. Large windows bring abundant natural light into the house and offer views of the garden, ensuring the Mediterranean surroundings remain ever-present. This creates an open and airy living environment that seamlessly integrates nature into everyday life. Regionality is also a priority in renovation and maintenance work: wherever possible, the family collaborates with local craftspeople and service providers, utilizing materials and products sourced from the region.
Casa Alicante is run as a small, family-owned project and consciously focuses on close collaboration with people from the region. For gardening, cleaning, maintenance, and other tasks, the family works with local professionals and small businesses who know the house and the surrounding area well. The focus is on long-term, fair, and trusting partnerships that go beyond mere service agreements and make an important contribution to the personal character of the project.
Solar panels generate some of the required energy, while a thermodynamic system handles hot water production. The pool was also deliberately designed to be compact in order to minimize water consumption in the arid Mediterranean region.
