In the family-run B&B Mia Majon, a feeling of homely security quickly sets in. Located in the midst of the wonderful mountain panorama of the Dolomites, it offers guests the ideal starting point to explore the region with its many experiences and stories.
The cozy mountain house was built around 1970 by the artistically inclined grandparents of the current hosts and has been used as accommodation for holiday guests for several decades. In the meantime, the generation of grandchildren with Gaia, Marti and parents Nadia and Igor is in the process of bringing the family business on an increasingly more conscious and ethical path. Here guests get all the support they need for car-free holidays and lots of information about how to explore the forests and mountains in a slower and more gentle way.
The house is still characterized by the artistic design of grandfather Reinhold and other artist friends and is furnished in a simple Ladin style. Thanks to the limited number of rooms and the few guests, you can relax and breathe deeply here.
Although Mia Majon is close to the ski lift and the other tourist attractions of the small town of Canazei, it is still far enough away that it is particularly quiet and contemplative to live here in the midst of the wonderful fields and in the embrace of woods and mountains.

ArchitectureMia Majon was built by grandparents Tiziana and Reinhold in the 1970s. He was a wood carver and artist and you can see that in the house. Everywhere there are special little corners and details that should definitely be preserved, as well as the special character of the entire house. That and the entire building fabric from the time make a renovation and renewal with regard to the desired energy self-sufficiency not easy. But Gaia, Nadia, Marti and Igor are working on it and step by step and cautiously advance on this path. With the use of regional or reclaimed wood for conversions and the help of local craftsmen.
FoodLovingly designed breakfast with original regional recipes, which are creatively modified with regard to sustainability. The breakfast is served at the table and on a very curated seasonal menu to choose from. The hosts mainly use seasonal ingredients from organic farming and pay attention to freedom from packaging and regional origin. Some ingredients come from our own orchard and herb garden. Other ingredients such as eggs, cheese or dandelion syrup and barley coffee come from friendly producers nearby. There are vegetarian and vegan options and food intolerances or allergies can also be catered for.
Gaia, Nadia, Marti and Igor run Mia Majon as a family business. To promote a good working atmosphere, they do supervision with mediation from time to time. This conscious approach to the challenge of living as a family and working at the same time is clearly reflected in the relaxed atmosphere in the house and with the guests. Mia Majon supports local environmental protection activities by providing them with space for events and meetings and taking an active part of them. They also support and promote events and gatherings on the matter of a different tourism.
EnvironmentMia Majon has a little surprise in store for guests who leave their car in the on-site car park during their stay or arrive without a car to celebrate their mindfulness and commitment to the environment. Guests willing to get around the beautiful mountains without a car can get all possible support and advice on public transport from the hosts. Leftovers are avoided where possible and otherwise composted. The cleaning agents used are ecological. Garbage is avoided and otherwise recycled separately.
Well-BeingThose who want to get in touch with themselves and the mountains can take part in morning practices or spend time in the “room for the soul”: the yoga and treatments space of the house. Yoga or Qi-Gong can be offered on request. In addition, guests in Mia Majon get fine recommendations for lesser-known walking and hiking trails and tips for the secret places in the forest, where you can really relax away from the noisy crowds.
