Information regarding COVID-19

All rooms are thoroughly cleaned before the arrival of new guests. The kitchen, which is the only communal area, is cleaned every day. The two large reception rooms provide plenty of space so that guests have no need to be in close contact with each other.

Welcome

Be my guest in this seventeenth-century manor visited by King Frederik in 1750, and situated in the heart of this unique small town, winner of the Europa Nostra conservation prize in 2002. Completely restored in 2017/2018, the rooms contain a collection of contemporary Danish and modern art.  Sit and relax, or work at your laptop in the two blue reception rooms which also double as a picture gallery for portraits by the well-known Danish artist Sven Havsteen-Mikkelsen. He was adept at catching the personality of the sitter, but many were not particularly pleased with how he saw them. Nevertheless, this is what makes the portraits come alive, and gives you insight into each personality, for better or for worse.

Rooms

The rooms are individually furnished with selected works of art, and look out onto either the Town Square or the listed courtyard.

Gallery and Facilities

Guests have their own entrance using the historic front door and red staircase. The modernized kitchen can be used to prepare breakfast and light meals, and the two gallery rooms provide space to sit and relax. In the summer enjoy the garden, or sit at one of several tables and benches in the courtyard.

Experience Ærø

To stay in Ærøskøbing is to be transported back in time. The town plan remains unchanged from the Middle Ages, and the narrow cobbled roads with the houses facing straight onto the street create a unique and intimate atmosphere.

Buses are free and provide a good way to see the island.
